The Youth & Law Forum is an annual event first organized in 1990 and held at First AME Church and this year we celebrate our 20th year. The purpose of the Youth & Law Forum is to educate youth and families about their legal rights, protection and responsibilities, law careers, court procedures, and resources. The theme for the 20th Annual Youth & Law Forum at First AME Church, Seattle is "KEEPIN' IT LEGAL FOR 20 YEARS." The event is free. (The Anniversary Dinner occurs a week before the Youth & Law Forum and is a ticketed event.)
The event will feature guest speakers, some from our local Police, Sheriff and State Patrol offices. There will also be a number of seminars & workshops all designed to help young people better understand the law and to develop better relationships with law enforcement officials. Participants will have a chance to perform CSI style evidence detection, witness demonstrations and compete for prizes. Thanks to generous contributions from supporters, the event is entirely free and lunch will be provided. You will be entertained, enlightened and educated. Please plan to attend.
Registration begins at 8:00 AM. All ages welcome. Separate work shops for elementary, middle school, high school and adults. Please pre-register to reserve your spot by completing the registration form online and clicking SUBMIT FORM below. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday April 17, 2010. Thank you.
