FAME Education Enhancement Program

"Investing in Ourselves"


Mission:  Providing educational outreach to enhance the academic achievement, social and emotional well being of youth in a caring environment.

  • Launched in 1987 under the pastorage of Rev. James H. Oxley 
  • Staffed completely by volunteers with expertise in math, language arts and science.  
  • Focus is on middle school youth.  Elementary and high school age also participate.
  • October through May program year
  • Enhancement occurs 2 times a week:  Monday and Wednesday – 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Location:  First African Methodist Episcopal Church (FAME) 1522 – 14th Ave. Seattle, WA
